'Austoberfest' Oktoberfest Mixed 6 Pack 2024

In a year with so many good Oktoberfest releases from local breweries, we wanted to share a bit of the love for these traditional German styles by making a mixed pack with what we think are some of the best ones we've tried!

Our first Oktoberfest for 2024 blends tradition with innovation: a specialty yeast from Bluestone Yeast Co, Weyermann Carrahells malt, and a new hop variety from Hüll create a deliciously bready wheat beer with a stunning golen haze. Prost!

Rocky Ridge - Brunhilde Double Decoction Festbier

Servus!.. To celebrate Oktoberfest we’ve brought back the legendary Germanic figure, Brunhilde! Fearless Valkyrie and proud daughter of Odin. The process of brewing this refreshing, burnished gold “Double Decocted Festbier” is steeped in history, and presents both a challenge and an opportunity for our highly skilled brew team. This second iteration has been subtly enhanced with some light tweaks to the recipe and process, by vigorously boiling a portion of the wort we’ve deepend the malt flavour while ensuring it remains crisp and eminently drinkable. We felt no oak was needed this year. Upon cracking, brace yourself for the scent of fresh baked pretzels, then dive into layers of malt and bread that give way to light caramel in the mid palate, noble hops provide a soft bitterness with a hint of pine and citrus to finish. So raise your glass to the strength and courage of Brunhilde the rock against which the surf crashes! Oans, zwoa, drei! G’suffa

King River x Carwyn Cellars - Rauchbier Marzen
6.1% | 440ml | King Valley x Thornbury, VIC
Rauchbier is an incredible combination of savoury and sweet packed into your glass. Using our Marzen Lager as a base provides an elegant showcase for how smoke can add a wonderful savoury finish to a malty beer. It may take two of three sips, put once you've warmed your palate you will be in love with the smokey finish to this beer.

Good Land - Zuper Kool Kolsch
4.6% | 440ml | Traralgon, VIC
Using only the finest ingredients this Kölsch-style ale is brewed according to the German purity law. It pours a light golden colour with a beautiful fluffy white head. Bready, fruity, clean and super drinkable. Crack one open and prepare to be refreshed.

Hawkers - Basement Party Kellerbier
4.5% | 440ml | Reservoir, VIC
Kellerbier is a style that goes way back, originating in Franconia (south-central Germany) where the beer was brewed, casked, then stored to ferment and develop in caves (cellars) which had reliably stable temperatures. It’s a sessionable lager with a lean body, gentle hop presence, and keen disposition for good times. There’s a party in the basement, and you’re invited!

Holgate - German Dunkel Lager
4.7% | 500ml | Woodend, VIC
The original Munich-style beer, our Dunkel Lager has a history steeped in tradition. Deep ruby in colour, enjoy flavours of morello cherries and crusty bread. Prost! Holgate love a traditional beer recipe and we have worked hard over our 25 Years to perfect them. Our Dunkel Lager is no exception, brewed in the German-style with great care and attention given to make it an exemplary example of this style of beer. Fermented cold, our Dunkel Lager was then given an extended period of cold maturation to give it crispness synonymous with German lagers. This cold maturation and fermentation, along with the dark malts, help to create the distinct and delicious notes of cherry.
