Trappistes Rochefort - 10 Quadrupel 330ml

"The classic dark trappist beer from the Rochefort Trappist Monastery. Is there a better beer to finish to a Belgian beer flight?

The body is a very dark brown, almost black, with a health beige head. The aroma hints at the pleasures to come. Strong Belgian yeast aroma, caramel, figs and a little booziness. (It is 11.3% ABV!)

The rich flavour is a true delight. Sweet caramel, honey and dark fruits combine for an initial greeting that is thick and luxurious. In behind is a mineral earthiness, and vinuous notes of raisin and cherry. The booziness is there, but held in check by the complex body.
