Terra Felix - Sophia Pinot Noir 750ml
"Named after my Granddaughter, this wine is quintessentially Yarr Valley. It embodies the essence of the terroir and cool climate growing conditions. We only make this wine when the growing conditions are most favourable.
The grapes were picked when we felt we had balance between flavour and acidity. This gave us a wine with a distinctive cherry bouquet, subtle tannins and hints of spice. The wine was handcrafted with meticulous care. When picked, the grapes were crushed into open fermenters and hand plunged to highlight varietal and regional characteristics. The juice was racked off into 500 litre Premium French Oak puncheons [ 50% new wood]. It was then left to peacefully undergo maturation for 12 months. French Oak was used to develop balance, structure and complexity.
The aroma reveals cherries, earthy forest floor undertones and hints of spice. On the palate there is a harmonious blend of fruit flavours, silky tannins and hints of spice. It has length with the taste lingering. Good to drink now or over the next 8 to 10 years." -Terra Felix
