"Gamay is the grape variety that was common in teh French region of Burgundy until 1395 when the Duke of Burgundy banished it to the nearby area known as Beaujolais. David Lloyd has always loved wines from the Gamay grape, especially the way they match so well with food. David first added Gamay to Eldridge in the summer of 1995/6 making him one of the pioneers of Gamay in Australia. This is a wine that has flavours of cherry often accompanied with plum and blueberry." - Eldridge Estate
