"Our Advance Release wines offer a portal into the future of Thistledown. They are wines available in extremely limited quantities (often only around 400 bottles). They are most certainly a passion project - carefully selected, hand-bottled and hand-labelled - showcasing some very special fruit and vineyard sites that excel in any given year.

Some people claim that the finest Grenache vineyard in Australia is Yangarra’s High Sands which is in the heart of the Blewitt Springs sub-region on Schuller Rd. At a marginally lower elevation but on the same sandy soils and directly over the road, the di Fabio vineyard has wonderful 80 year old dry-grown bush-vine Grenache. The fruit here displays very different characteristics from that of our other Blewitt Springs site – offering up an array of almond blossom scented cherry fruit, hints of mineral and dark spice.
