Jericho - 24YO Tawny Port 500ml

"Elegant, Rich & Complex

This is a truly exceptional and unique Tawny; painstakingly blended over time from 6 individual parcels to create a complex and elegant wine. It starts with the colour; rich tawny with hues of yellow, orange and green.  Lift the glass to your nose for hints of coffee, roasted nuts, butterscotch, and vanilla. Raise it to your mouth for crystalline dried fruits, and a lovely depth of sweetness, balanced by an elegant dry finish.

Wine Notes: In 1974 Neil & Kaye Jericho bought several barrels of a then 6-year-old fortified wine. These wines have now been following our family for the last 47 years as we have moved from one wine region to another. As the wine concentrated and slowly evaporated over time, Neil was able to top the barrels with a tawny he had made, and we watched the wine continue to evolve and mature.

After we started Jericho Wines in 2012, the family decied we had to make a fortified wine given Neil’s history in the industry. It was obvious that the original barrels of tawny that Kaye and Neil bought all those years ago would form the foundation of a unique blend. Younger tawny components of 12 and 15 year old wines have been blended with the foundation barrels to produce this wine that has an average age of 24 years." - Jericho
