Four producers in the Marco de Jerez region of Spain have teamed up together to create a very cool new label.

Each wine uses the same variety, Palomino, is spontaneously fermented, minimal treatment and aged in barrels for 12 months without ullage and not under flor. So what sets these wines apart from one another? The Mayeto (the local word for a small producer) parcel from which they originate.

Vina de Los Esbarataos comes from the Miraflores parcel from Mayeto Daniel Rodriguez Garcia, a 5th generation grower with 65 year old vines near the coast.

A wine of good volume with nice stretch, saline freshness and a sense of Miraflores’ open fluidity. Good skin concentration plays out as pickled cumquats, with old marigolds, a lick of chalk and smoky blue steel. In the run home, it turns deftly sour, running out on a lovely bitter herb tisane. The gentle release approximates a smile.

Other wines available in the label are:
