{ "available": "false", "body_html": ""The 2015 Growing Season The cool weather conditions at the end of winter brought about late budding and helped the vines to escape any spring frosts. Bud-break began during the first days of April during a spell of mild, fast-warming weather. The bud-break was even and clean and was the first factor of quality for phenolic components. The flowering process was equally even and fast, taking place during the first two weeks of June in very favourable weather conditions that combined slightly higher than usual temperatures with low rainfall. The summer weather turned very hot as from 25th June. These restrictive water supply conditions during a period of heat brought about a thickening of the grape skins, development of the tannins and a fast evolution of the pips. The constant water deficit during the ripening period favoured concentration in the berries and tannin ripening. Low rainfall in August kept the berries smaller and concentrated and refined the tannins. In September, we got the rain we needed for perfect ripening. As the harvest approached, the health of the vines was excellent. Vinification Short, pre-fermentation cold soaks gave fabulous results. The musts quickly gained fruit character, structure and deep colour, revealing the great richness in anthocyanins in this vintage. After long post-fermentation macerations to allow the skins to release all their power, the malo-lactic fermentations were carried out in barrel. The wines quickly displayed flesh, volume and gentle tannic power in a velvety, silky mouth-feel. The ageing in barrel is ongoing and shows huge promise. The Cellarmaster's View The wine today displays a deep colour, vibrant fruit, and a tannic mouth-feel conveying a dense and harmonious structure worthy of outstanding vintages.
