Last Word - Subject #8893 BA Wild Brown Cherry & Raspberry 750ml (6.1%)
Over 3 years ago we teamed up with long time Carwyn friend and member of the Melbourne craft beer scene Alister Robbie to put one of his tried and tested wild brown ale recipes into two old red wine barrels and forget about. Turns out that sometimes, being forgetful, pays off! The base beer is a kettle soured brown ale followed by a 100% Brett fermentation. After its stint in barrels the beer was fruited and bottled by Black Arts Beer. The base beer brings a chinotto/ cola flavour that, with the added cherries and raspberries, becomes a riff on a cherry cola.

When the crew came to us with some old wine barrels and an award-winning Flanders Red homebrew recipe, we knew our moment had arrived. ‘Nothing At All’ spent over 2 years in old Yarra Valley red wine barrels and is our take on one of the greatest and most refreshing beer styles in the world, the Flanders Red. The only way to sex-up one of the world’s great sour beer styles is to throw a heap of fruit at it right?! Well, that’s what we have done and the results are undeniably delicious. This is the same Flanders Red base beer as ‘Nothing at All’, fermented on a huge amount of cherries and raspberries thanks to our friends down at Black Arts beer.
