{ "available": "false", "body_html": ""The Frauenberg in southern Wonnegau is located north of Hohen-Sülzen in the direction of Flörsheim at an altitude of up to 280 meters and a slope of up to 40%. The historical location was mentioned in a document as early as 1290 under the name “an frauwenhalten” and was originally owned by a nunnery. H.O. Spanier has brought the Frauenberg from oblivion back into the consciousness of wine lovers. The exposed location of the Frauenberg always gives it cool winds despite its purely southern orientation; its surface consists of limestone gravel and the subsoil is a solid limestone base. The vines have deep roots in the hard, mineral-rich soil. This makes them self-sufficient and allows long, healthy growing seasons even in extreme years. The Frauenberg wines are harvested by hand after strict selection, fermented spontaneously and aged in barrels. Bright straw yellow with brilliant reflections and a silver edge. Almost monolithic, the Frauenberg in its youth is more of a sketch than a precisely contoured self-portrait. Stony and barren, it is reminiscent of wet pebbles, notes of citrus, apricot kernels and apple peel are brightened by fresh herbs such as chervil and cucumber peel. Summated by distinctively dark aromas and smoky overtones, it is precise and disciplined when drunk. Sinewy and taut, it builds up pulsating pressure on the palate, the orchestral acidity as a leitmotif choreographs extract, phenolics and minerality. Multi-layered and complex, it clearly requires the carafe and a few years of bottle aging. Frauenberg is a highly mineral wine with a great affinity for fine cuisine.
