Samuel Smith
Established in 1758, Samuel Smith has become an internationally renowned brewery through traditional brewery methods such as brewing in big copper pots, using whole hops and well water!
The original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground. They also ferment their beers in slate Yorkshire Squares (with yeast that has been used continuously since the 1800s) and condition their brews in oak casks.
