The July flight for Super 6 keeps us in the winter mood, with a few malty numbers like some flavoured Porters and Stouts, a Red IPA made with empowerment and equality in mind, a jammy classic by an iconic Queensland brewery; and finally two IPA collabs involving four different New South Wales breweries! Sydney is kind of taking over this box!
What's in the box:
3806 • Nitro Coffee Porter
Coffee Porter | 4.7% | Berwick, VIC
About • This microbrewery in Berwick has quickly established itself as a great beer & food spot. This time they’ve collaborated with Bermuda Coffee Roasters for this wintery drop.
Taste • Roasty in nose with mild notes of Cake Crust and Mild Cocoa beans. In flavour, the coffee is incredibly well integrated, not aggressive or astringent, a hard thing to nail!
Bodriggy • The Ripple Effect
Red IPA | 5.8% | Abbotsford, VIC
About • This beer was made with this year’s Pink Boots Society (PBS) hop blend by YCH, which donates part of its sales to PBS in support of women (and non-binary people) in this industry.
Taste • Stewed Strawberries, Sponge Cake and Light Grapefruit, very easy drinking with a bold bitterness lingering.
White Bay • Inconceivable!
Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate Stout | 8.0% | Rozelle, NSW
About • It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Peanut Butter Strong Stout on the market! This brew is really well balanced, and it’s taking us to boozy Reece’s Pieces wonderland.
Taste • Caramel and Toffee on the nose, with light roast supporting the sweet aromas. In mouth we get that Dark Roast Peanut Butter, followed by Cocoa Powder. Dangerously easy!
Range • JAM! Double Raspberry
Double Fruited Sour Ale | 5.5% | Newstead, QLD
About • If a Range JAM series beer says “DOUBLE” on the label, we know that they truly mean business. Step aside hops, it’s time for the forest fruit to make its mark.
Taste • Massive Raspberry Gelato vibes, with some Raspberry Drops added. The acidity is well integrated, and the beer finishes dry. Highly drinkable, tasting like a mellow Daiquiri.
Frenchies x Hopsters • The Cool Kids - Clayton Hops Juicy IPA
Hazy IPA | 6.5% | Rosebery x Enmore, NSW
About • This time we have a collaboration between two great breweries from Sydney. Based on one of the best hop growers across the Tasman, things are about to get “lupuly”.
Taste • Beautiful blend of Orange & Plum with underlying tropical character. The bitterness is restrained providing exactly that juicy character that we’re expecting. Extra quaffable.
Slow Lane x Kicks • Clean Lines
West Coast IPA | 7.5% | Botany x Marrickville, NSW
About • The European style experts can make some great hoppy beers! This time joined by Kicks brewing, who have quickly become one of the top IPA producers in the country.
Taste • Mint and Pine, and notes of Golden Syrup from the malts. The resinous hops dominate the palate with a light sweetness followed by an assertive bitterness that lingers.
