Yes friends, our annual celebration of bottom-fermented brews is back once again to celebrate its 3rd edition, with a specific focus on the best producers of lager in Australia!⁠

We cannot explain how much we love a good quality Lager, and it’s been a pleasure to see how many breweries have started to give a greater focus and attention on the finesse that a good clean Lager requires when brewing, it’s just a thing of beauty!⁠ We’ll be showcasing a huge assortment of different lager styles across 25 taps, from breweries across Australia throughout 4 days over the Labour day long weekend.⁠

The Albert Tasting

We could think of no better choice to headline our ‘’All Aussie’’ edition of Lager is King, with (in our opinion) the preeminent lager specialist in Australia. The Albert are one of only a couple breweries in the country that focus 100% on lager production – and they don’t do things by halves. From their brew system - an ex Heineken pilot kit from the 70’s – to their horizonal lagering tanks, their dedication is clear and as the Bens can attest from their visit to the Hobart brewery last year, it’s a very impressive setup that leads to impeccably made lagers and a bucket list brewery for any self-confessed lager nerd.⁠

We are stoked to be not only showcasing 7 different lagers from the Albert at this year’s event, but we will have The Albert founder Mark French and Head Brewer JJ King flying in to host a very special ticketed tasting event.

What's included:

• Guided tasting of 4 different beers by The Albert Brewery.
• Private Q&A with JJ and Mark.
• Shared plates of Albert-beer sausages by Smokestack BBQ specifically made for this tasting (event exclusive).
• A beautiful “The Albert” blue corduray hat (RRP $30!).
