If you’ve ever cracked open any beer with the word ‘Euphorics’ on it, you’ll know they pack a full on (fruit) punch to the senses. One of the latest hop-adjacent-toys to hit the brewing scene, Euphorics are a new brewing additive from Hop Products Australia (HPA) & HAAS.
So what are they? Euphorics are a hop-and-botanical combo product built for cold side use, helping our favourite brewers to dial up those big, juicy fruit notes in a more cost-effective way (ie not needing an entire wheelbarrow of hops for every batch)
The range leans hard into the world of modern IPAs, with names like Cosmic Guava, Peachy Keen, Pineapple Paradise, and Pomelo Daydream (and apparently more on the way!) – which honestly has us wondering if we should be adding a tiny umbrella after cracking a tin.
Beyond saving a few dollars (and a few sore backs), Euphorics bring some real practical perks: better consistency from batch to batch, with less seasonal swing than raw hops can provide. Plus the peace of mind that while the added botanicals boost the flavour, it’s free of sugars, making it much more stable than fruited beers. Add in the fact that it’s water soluble, and it’s easy to add to the mix post-fermentation.
While not designed to ever replace hops entirely, Euphorics are being used by more and more Aussie brewers as a turbo button – a way to enhance and amplify juicy, fruity character and flavour notes that hops alone can struggle to reach.
