In October we had a very special day at Co-Conspirtors in Brunswick, this particular visit was due to the brewing of Co-Conspirator’s beer for Canvent™! But what made this Canvent brew day different from other was that we were also hosting the 2021 Canvent Competition winner!

In October we had a very special day at Co-Conspirtors in Brunswick, this particular visit was due to the brewing of Co-Conspirator’s beer for Canvent™! But what made this Canvent brew day different from other was that we were also hosting the 2021 Canvent Competition winner.
Mim won last year’s people’s choice award for the best Canvent pic with his xmas themed bar, showcasing the sunny holiday vibes over in Queensland. As part of the prize, which included a Canvent 2022 for him and a friend, he won the opportunity to participate in the brewing for a Canvent beer, and was brought to Melbourne to participate. That weekend it also happened to be our Oktoberfest event, and Mim managed to participate and drink some truly delicious German beers (including a 2 litre boot of Lager!)
Two days later, Co-Conspirators hosted this brew day, and they took a few of the Carwyn team and the visitors, Mim and Chelsea, on a tour around their Brunswick venue while the brewing was happening. They were able to participate in the milling, mashing and boiling of this beer, which included the addition of all the special hops that were included in this Double IPA, and got to try a few beers! Overall, it was a fantastic day.
When we asked Mim about his experience he shared these words:
“Well I’d say the prize as a whole was bloody epic. An experience I’ll never forget.
The brewing experience itself was a great time! I learned a lot about the beer making process and got to drink through their tap list! The Co-Conspirators crew were truly amazing.
I’d also like to mention that Tito and Little Ben from Carwyn are legends! Chelsea and I had an epic time with them both at Carwyn and Co-Conspirators! Cheers guys!”
We are super happy with how that day went! And it was truly a pleasure to meet Mim and Chelsea, and to have such amazing hosts (Deon, Maggie, Tim and Jacqui) in this lovely brew day.
The Beer.
This one was a special one for us! Co-Conspirators join us for the first time ever in Canvent! (Believe it or not). The Brunswick-based brewers made this brew day even more special, as we hosted Mim, our Canvent 2021 Competition winner, for a brew day. Co-Conspirators went all out on the hop bill for this beer, including the new experimental hop HBC583 and some Spectrum Mosaic for an extra burst of flavour!

🍺 ‘The Scrooge’ DIPA
🥴 8.5% ABV
This brings some old school IPA vibes, with a sweeter malt character, followed by the fruity notes from the hops resembling grapefruit and blood orange, with notes of pine. All supported by a good dose of bitterness that lingers in the palate with a light resinous character. This feels like a throwback, and we love it!
