{ "available": "false", "body_html": "<p><em>"The Alpine Valleys region boasts a proud Italian-origin population, many of them second or third generation who have followed their parents into crop growing. Tobacco used to be a significant industry, hence the iconic kiln houses that dot the landscape. Once tobacco declined, many took to growing grapes and hence the area has an array of Italian grape varieties, including Vermentino. This variety is grown in various Italian regions and originate from Sardinia. The fruit for this wine usually comes from the Ferraro Vineyard in Myrtleford, however unfortunately, like all our other fruit sources in the Alpine Valleys it was affected by smoke taint as a result of the summer bushfires.</em><br><em>Jo was lucky to be offered some Vermentino from the Politini Vineyard in Cheshunt and while parts of the King Valley were also affected by the bushfires, there were pockets of fruit that escaped the devastation of smoke taint. After careful analysis, several micro ferments and cautious consideration we decided the fruit was too good to turn down.</em></p> <p><br><em>The resulting wine was worth the risk.
