Shelter Point Montfort District Lot 141
Shelter Point Montfort District Lot 141 is a delightfully approachable whisky. The nose, at first, gives off rich vanilla oaky notes with some stewed plums and a little hint of a citrus tucked away; but it changes—keeps changing—giving up different aromas and characters! It continues, putting out chocolate and spice, butterscotch, nuttiness, and red fruit. The palate is lifted and fluffy, offering up a lightly textural mouthfeel with more spice, and a finish that resonates more on the oak. On the Time of Day to Drink the Dram scale, this is a guilt-free reward for surviving a hectic 2018 with an even-more-hectic end. Drink it at sunset on a beach in one of those real comfy folding camp chairs in full lounge position with your feet up on an esky and a distinct and complete lack of hoots to give. You’ve earned it.
