Harvest began almost four weeks earlier than usual, with early-ripening reds such as Pinot Noir picked alongside the white varieties. Careful canopy management and judicious irrigation were crucial in maintaining fruit exposure and vine health throughout the season. Yields were moderate to slightly above average and impressively, natural acidity remained high, with fruit showing excellent flavour concentration and purity.

Fruit was machine harvested in the cool of night. Only the first 200 litres per tonne of free run juice was retained, with no pressings used to avoid phenolic bitterness. Cold settled and racked to stainless steel for a long slow ferment using VL1 yeast (selected for aromatic development and low VA potential) to increase flavour complexity.

Appearance: Pale straw.

Aroma: Intensely aromatic with notes of rose petal, lime zest, citrus blossom and musk.

Palate: The palate is bright, with red apple, preserved lemon, and a flinty mineral edge." - Plantagenet

Style / Variety: Riesling
Region: Mount Barker, WA
ABV: 12.5%
Vol: 750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0759/6149/9906/files/20261001_Plantagenet-WyjupRiesling2024750ml_1.jpg?v=1790919550
