There’s lift and line from the Pinot, with a quiet grounding of Shiraz beneath. The nose opens brightly and immediately: red cherry, wild strawberry and a flicker of cranberry, edged with gentle spice and a light dusting of oak. There’s a softness to the aromatics, but also a sense of detail. Expect floral notes and a faint savoury thread sitting just under the fruit. On the palate, Pinot leads the way, giving clarity and flow. It’s supple and open through the front, before the Shiraz begins to assert itself. You’ll sense fine tannins building through the mid-palate and carrying into the finish. The year in barrel has knit it together, adding a quiet warmth and rounding the edges without overt weight.
